ONE DAY CLOSER TO THE REAL DATE OF FALL WHICH IS SEPTEMBER 22 THIS YEAR

Not many leaves have turned yet and looking back in my photos it should start soon here in the mountains.  We are starting in with cool nights so it shouldn't be too long before the trees get the message to draw back their life giving chlorophyl which will make for some beautiful patterns on the leaves.

Maria's journal was interesting and she sure didn't go into detail about the black plague and i'm hoping there will be more about that in the future.

We have recently had some nice sunny late summer days, but the nights are getting cooler and the leaves are beginning to turn and change colour.
I do like this time of year.

All the best Jan

I was thinking the leaves here are late in turning. Most likely because of the very wet Summer we had. Rather than see the leaves turn, I'd prefer it to stay Summer with the bees buzzing about.

i hope you get your wish. I use to love summer - my favorite season until about 10 years ago when i moved to the mountains. Summer up here is humid a lot. for me fall is the best.

Oh dear. Maria hasn't written in her journal for awhile. I hope the plague did not catch up with her. More likely she got that job and is way too busy for us. I can wait.

wondering if there has been a drought where you are. Not sure what the season will bring since we have been in a big drought. But i am seeing some colors.

mesmerizing bee painting dear Sandy ,each time Maria gets some amazing way to include bee and i love it so much :)

wishing best of luck to Maria for all the ups and down she has been through this year ,i can feel your desperation for the fall colors as artist ,i know it is magical experience during this time of the year

thanks Baili. Maria is definitely a nature lover and I believe a humanitarian. I admire her. take care.

Nice sketch, Sandy! We don't get noticeable changes of 4 seasons here in South East Queensland. It feels like we only have two — Winter for only a couple months, summer the rest. lol I dread summer here because it gets so hot with a very high humidity — feels like we're living in a sauna.
